Book Study - Goosebumps....

Over the past few days, my class has been working on a book study about R.L Stine the writer of goosebumps.

We had to use a big piece of cardboard and from there we painted it, drew some characters from the goosebumps books. And we tried to make it look as scary and cool for the library. My group was in charge of the blurb. Me and my friend Sophie came up with a perfect blurb, it wasn't only interesting it scaryyy. Overall I really like what my class has completed!

My Finished Clay Model!

For the past few days, me and my class have been trying to make a clay model creation. My friend Heilala and I decided to make a Iphone 6, and to be honest it came out really well. At first we were struggling to make the case, but then I found a video on how to make a Iphone and a case with clay. The video was easy and simple to follow. I am really proud of what I have accomplished!

This is what it had looked like...

Last Day Of Touch Rugby :(

Over the last few weeks, my class has been doing touch training with a man called Trevor. Who is a professional touch rugby coach. He taught us how to play touch rugby and on the last day of our training(which was today) we played a game of proper touch. Using everything that he had taught us. I really enjoyed what he has taught, because I have used the skills in my touch games, for sport. From touch training I really enjoyed playing the warm up games, but most of them were tiring. Especially rat and rabbit, but the games had helped me improved the way I play touch. It was kind of sad that today was the last day but I have left touch rugby with lots of new skills, and I also know how to play touch ‘’Properly’’IMG_20151126_112148.jpg

August Alsina!

August Anthony Alsina is an American recording artist from New Orleans signed to Def Jam Records. August Alsina may not be known well but he is slowly making his way up the billboards charts. August Alsina debut studio album Testimony was released on April 15 2014.

August Alsina has faced the worst of life, including death of siblings, living without a home and lack of family support. But this didn't stop him from doing what he loved best which was singing. When he was 16 his family was living in poverty. To solve that he started selling drugs with his brother.

So you might be asking, Why do I love this guy so much? Well August Alsinas songs are different from what us people are use to. His songs aren't that fast hardcore rap, or those depressing love songs. His songs are smooth, calm and each song has a meaning and talks about the struggles of when he was young.

So overall I love August Alsina!

Its Time For A Change!

Our garden outside our classroom is being taken down and replaced, by the Tamaki College students. With something maybe new, colourful and fresh. Something that might light up, and make our class look more enjoyable to look at.

Well a good garden needs nice colours. Maybe a few Boter flowers will do the trick, because it’s a simple but a beautiful flower to look at. Something else I would choose is a fern. It’s the natural symbol that us New Zealanders use in our sports games and other things.

Right now I’m thinking of bright colours that will stand out. Tulips are flowers that all grow the same but with each a different unique colour. Tulips is something that I would definitely put in our class garden. Lucky Lucky last I would chose a Hybrid tea rose flower. The colours are light and nice. And there peaceful to look at.

So there you have it, I just told you what I call a garden. Boter flowers, a fern, a few tulips and a hybrid tea rose flower. And also thanks for the Tamaki College students for doing our garden!

This year for Halloween I am going to be Pacman. Pacman is the main character of the game Pacman. Another reason why I would choose Pacman, was that he is a simple but a good idea to be for Halloween. I had way more other ideas besides than Pacman. So for those people who are going Trick or Treating around the Pt England area. I wanna tell you guys that if you see a big yellow Pacman head than that's me!

Night Markets!

On Saturday at 7:00pm I went to the night markets with my cousin and we both had $50 to spend. My cousin bought a hat that was $20 and said Compton on it. To be honest I think I bought something even better. I bought a black jumper that said Pallas Isaako for $50. That was all my money gone, on just a jumper. I enjoyed spending that money.

Next time I go I might get a jumper that says something else on it.

BE PREPARED!

Today at 9:15am we had a quick earthquake drill, as soon as we heard 3 bells we quickly went under our desks. We weren't the only school doing the earthquake drill. Every single school around New Zealand had to do it as well, at the exact time of 9:15am. The whole point of having a drill is to be prepared for an earthquake if it occurs.
(This is what we had to do DROP, COVER, HOLD!)

Blood Moon!

Blood Moon on the Horizon

A Blood moon known as a ‘tetrad’ will take place on September 28th, which is just the fourth lunar eclipse in two years.
The rare event will make the moon look up to 14% larger because it is as close to the earth than it will ever be in its elliptical orbit. However there is a chance that the eclipse won’t be visible from New Zealand and as always viewing always depends on weather conditions.
Screenshot 2015-09-24 at 10.36.42 AM.pngSo why will the moon be a ‘blood’ red colour? When the earth eclipses a full moon the direct sunlight is blocked, but the sun's rays still light up the moon. However this light has already traveled through the Earth's atmosphere first, and hence causing the totally eclipsed moon to look red or brownish.

The play was musical, funny and had lots of dancing in it. My favorite part was when the boys done the Harlem shake in the gym. Overall It was fun at Pt England and I think their play was awesome!
